A reach truck is used in narrow aisle applications, such as warehouses. These trucks have a different design from the a forklift (Left). It has two outer legs with wheels( Load Wheel ) that help distributes the load and a single set of wheel at the back to help with the load center (Drive Wheel). The Drive Wheel is located below the operator, which allows operator to navigate is narrow smaller spaces while being able to reach higher racking.
Some advantages of the Reach Trucks includes that operators can work in narrow working aisles due to tight turning radius and also reach trucks has an excellent load center while travelling. Whereas the disadvantages are that they travel in a slow speed and the floor surface should be smooth.
